In the article "Middling to Fair," the author does not define the terms race, ethnicity, and white. This man claims to be white and yet he treats other whites as non-whites. I recent this approach on the part of this man as I am a white man of Latin descent. At the turn of the 20th Century, Irish and Italians, to name just two ethnic groups, were not considered whites. Those who did not consider these two groups white did not of course define the term white. In order to understand what white is, we have to define the term "race." According to Grolier Encyclopedia, "race is a local or global population, distinguished, more or less, as a distinct group, based on genetically transmitted physical characteristics." Based on this definition, if a person is deemed to be white, his/her parents must be white, biologically, as their genes were mutated to produce a white off spring. Most scientists agree that there are three main races on earth: Caucasoid, Negroid, Mongoloid, and biologically speaking, these scientists are correct. The reason being is by experiencing what the mutation of different ethnic groups within the same race produce. Say we take a man who is indigenous to Germany (emphasis on being an indigenous German must be made as there are other considered Germans but are indigenous to Sub Saharan Africa [Negroids]) and mutate his genes with those of a woman indigenous to India. This mixture of genes is going to produce a white off spring for the simple fact that that off spring is not physically seen as half-Negroid or half-Mongoloid as it would happen if any of these two other racial groups were involved. Hence the mutation of an Indian and a German would be an ethnic one. This is what politically correct people mean when they are talking about racial and ethnic minorities.
There is a big difference between a racial minority person and an ethnic minority person. Let us not forget what happened in Yugoslavia where every citizen in that country is white and yet they emphasized on ethnic cleansing. This man who wrote that article should also understand that Latin Americans are so called because their genes came from any of the Latin countries in Europe: (France, Italy, Portugal, Spain and Romania.) By this fact, this author is calling the late John Kennedy Jr. a non-white as his mother was Latin and his father was Irish. He would also call say, Cameron Diaz a non-white even though her mother is 50 percent German, 50percent Amerindian and his father is Cuban of Spanish descent. He would also would have to call James Gardner, the movie actor a non-white even though his father is German and his mother is Cherokee. I could go on and on to prove how politically "correct" this guy is.
